Terms of Service

By accessing or using Resin, you agree to these terms. If you use Resin for an organization or team workspace, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms. If you do not agree, do not access or use Resin.

Resin finds repeated patterns in your local coding agent sessions. It builds candidate tools from those patterns, evaluates them, and qualifies compiled tools for activation.

Resin requires operational metadata telemetry, and you cannot turn it off. This telemetry includes sanitized observation records, tool activity metadata, usage, verification digests, and the evaluation results Resin needs to provide the service.

You are responsible for reviewing compiled tools, capability envelopes, and permission requests before you activate or run them. Resin's tools and analysis do not replace your own review. You remain responsible for validating generated code and tool behavior in your development and production environments.

Full transcript telemetry is optional and off by default. If you turn it on in Dashboard Profile, you authorize Resin to collect session content. That includes prompts, model responses, tool activity, and any code in those sessions. Resin still redacts secrets locally, but redaction cannot guarantee that every sensitive detail is removed. Share only content you have permission to disclose.

Turning off transcript sharing stops future full-transcript uploads. It does not delete data Resin has already received.

We may retain user data to operate, maintain, improve, and secure Resin, to resolve disputes, and to meet applicable legal obligations. You cannot choose a retention period. These terms do not promise a fixed retention period, and they do not promise automatic deletion when you stop using Resin.

Your privacy rights under applicable law still apply. Send privacy requests to hello@resin.sh. We handle them subject to applicable law and retention requirements.

The dashboard's "Tokens Saved" and "API-equivalent price" figures estimate avoided usage. They are not guaranteed reductions in your bill.

Resin calculates them from successful tool invocations that have a recorded baseline. For each one, Resin subtracts the invocation's token usage and cost from the baseline token count and cost for that tool version. It then adds up the differences. If an invocation does not report its tokens or cost, Resin counts them as zero.

API-equivalent price is in USD and uses recorded baseline costs. A baseline may use a flat estimate of $3 per million tokens instead of model-specific API prices. Resin does not reprice baselines at live model rates when you view the dashboard.

These figures ignore your provider subscription, discounts, and actual billing arrangements. They do not deduct your Resin subscription. A negative value means estimated extra usage or cost, not savings.

Token estimates compare the source workflow baseline with the generated tool's input and output plus captured discovery exchanges. Resin estimates tokens as the UTF-8 byte count of that input and output divided by 4. Estimates exclude full model context, reasoning, and model responses after a tool call. Dollar values price API cost at a frozen blended rate taken from the observed baseline. They are not invoice savings.

Date filters use daily totals recorded in UTC. The "all" filter uses all-time account totals. Figures may be up to five minutes old because of caching. Older daily cost breakdowns may be unavailable, and Resin does not infer them from token counts or all-time totals.

You must give accurate account information and keep your access credentials, API tokens, and connected developer machines secure. You are responsible for all activity under your personal account and workspace memberships.

Revoking a device's credentials blocks its later cloud requests and token refreshes. Revocation does not remotely stop a daemon, cancel all work already in progress, or erase local or historical account data.

You keep ownership of your code repositories, local session contents, and workspace assets. You grant Resin a limited right to host, process, and analyze sanitized evidence, tool manifests, and session content you explicitly choose to share, to provide, maintain, and improve the service.

Some features run AI models, including tool synthesis, test generation, and evaluation. For those features, the configured model inference providers process sanitized prompts and capability schemas under their own terms.

You agree not to use Resin to:

• violate any applicable law or regulation, or infringe any third-party intellectual property right;
• create or distribute malicious code, malware, or backdoors;
• interfere with, disrupt, or compromise the integrity or security of Resin;
• try to get around sandboxing, capability envelopes, or authorization checks; or
• resell, sublicense, or redistribute the cloud service without our written permission.

Resin works with third-party services, including version control providers, AI model providers, and coding agent tools. Those services have their own terms and policies, which apply to your use of them.

You may stop using Resin at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially breach these terms, if you create security risks for Resin or its users, or if legal process requires it.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Resin is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. This includes warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither Resin nor its operators will be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the service.

We may revise these terms. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the current version. If you keep using Resin after a revision takes effect, you accept the revised terms.
